>>45644299-Like I said, the Water starter didn’t carry the “heads” theme like the other two, although it’s interesting that the Grass one has three “heads”, the Fire one has two, and this one only has one.
-This starter would begin as a creature based on a Pakicetus, a small, land dwelling mammal that is the ancestor to whales. I couldn’t think of a neat gimmick for the first two stages, so this is little more than a blue version of it’s IRL counterpart.
-The first evolution of this starter goes from a Pakicetus to an Ambulocetus, simply following IRL whale evolution, becoming more suited for a water-based lifestyle and now resembling a mammalian crocodilian. The color scheme shifts from a light blue to a medium blue, perhaps with some white splotches to mix things up.
-The final stage is where things actually get interesting but also kind of weird. Instead of further following whale evolution(because that would greatly inhibit land-based locomotion for our starter), this starter’s evolution takes a turn for the mythological, slightly bringing it in line with the other two. This form would be *very* loosely based on a sea yokai known as a shachihoko. A shachihoko(pic related of course) is a yokai said to be part tiger, part carp. However, according to the (admittedly very little) research I’ve done, “shachi” is the Japanese word for an orca. Inspired by this, the final form would largely resemble a quadrupedal cross between a tiger and an orca, with the head looking largely like pic related. I’d have to think about some further inspiration to make this seem more interesting. As far as typing goes, Shachihoko were thought to bring rain when needed, so perhaps as a “good spirit” it could be Fairy(Weak justification I know.)
