"Fat Balance" is a relatively new term that has completely replaced the term "Semi-Stall" from the common smogon vernacular over the last few years.
Stall in general has gotten an increasingly negative perception among players in recent gens, so it makes it look like the term fat balance is an attempt to give the semi-stall playstyle a less negative perception.

I have unironically seen people refer to full stall as "hyper stall".
Probably because just "stall" is too broad since everyone knows "fat balance" is just a stall variant. So they refer to both as stall and lump them together in a broad sense like how hyper offense and bulky offense both get lumped together under the offense banner.

Future Sight is an offensive tool, you most often see it paired with Urshifu, Pheromosa, or other strong breakers in general. Nobody uses Future Sight + Roar and even if it did the goal would still be to actively break walls, not to outlast the opposing team.

Roar/Whirlwind is standard on stuff like Hippo regardless of Future Sight, and if you just happen to use both together there's a good chance you can fuck something over for free.

Doesn't matter, the goal of Future Sight is still to wallbreak and especially so if paired with Urshifu and friends. Call it cancer all you want but it's not stall under even the most generous definitions.

Have you never laddered in OU?
If you have, you would have at some point run into fat balance teams that are 4-5 defensive walls + a wallbreaker and sometimes something for speed control.

Pheromosa is frail but its coverage and movepool is just enough to where it potentially doesnt matter if the opposing priority users are gone if it’s a sweeper or if rocks are cleared if it’s a sash. Plus it can run physical, mixed, and special wall breaking AND/OR sweeper sets. It’s broken.
Btw, I play mostly hyper offense and bulky offense and I think that mon is fucking braindead and not only deserves the banhammer but also don’t understand why it was released into any tier below uber.
