I was fighting the elite four in this game and I realized the AI cheats. I had a ghost type against lopunny. lopunny used blaze kick and got me to yellow, so I switched to a fire type. Lopunny used mega kick on my houndoom, meaning the AI chooses moves after you act. I still beat the elite four but this was pretty frustrating, especially from a romhack that is so well regarded.

Tl;dr: Drayano uses artifical difficulty in his hacks by allowing the AI to cheat
