I can usually remember the type advantages that go both ways off the top of my head (for example, fire being NVE vs Water and Water being SE vs fire) or ones that are more intuitive like water being weak to electric.
However, I find sometimes need help of references for stuff. The ones I usually look up the most is
-does rock resist ice and poison
-does ghost resist poison and bug
-does bug resist poison
