this pisses me off too. feraligatr is my all time favorite and even if his mega wasn't good i was hoping to see them do something cool with it. every gen they make him look dumber and dumber and he gets almost 0 love

The Non-Johto Starters will probably get something in their own generation remakes anyways. Game Freak specially cucked over Johto for no reason by giving the Gen III starters Megas and leaving Johto with nothing.

Also, the Johto starters desperate need a boost. Only Feraligatr can be called good since it has Sheer Force. Typhloison's moveset is garbage but at least it has the fastest Eruption that could be powered up with Flash Fire. Meanwhile, Meganium's been forced to rot away in Untiered because Game Freak hates it for some reason (Leaf Guard is a joke as an ability).

Eh, I'm sure the mere addition of new Charizard forms gets people buying new merch. Like for the TCG, the shiniest and rarest Charizard cards in the recent day are all of its various forms

Charizard has been fairly decent for the past few gens to be fair. Zard X and zard Y have historically performed in both formats, specs zard was pretty useable in OU at a point, and Gmax zard has been fairly good in vgc too.

Megas seemed to be a way to revitalize old designs, so it kind of makes sense that most Gen VI Pokémon didn't get one.

What's really stupid is that Ash-Greninja exists, while Delphox and Chesnaught got eff-all.
