It was long before then that she was intoxicated by Nihilego. She started experimenting on the Ultra wormholes short after Mohn disappeared, and was probably affected by them in that fragment of time, and her research slowly turned from "saving my husband" to "find my beloved Nihilego"

Cyrus wasn't that evil tho, he was just autistic as fuck. The fact that he understood the world around him differently than everyone else made him stand out imo. The only villains who are even more interesting are Archie and Maxie, especially in Emerald, but that's only because they were straight-up retarded.
