Now that it is becoming increasingly clear that Cinderace, or any generation 8 Pokémon for that matter, won't be in Smash, why did Sakurai and Nintendo snub Sword & Shield?

The release of SM, Smash and SwSh just didn't line up very well. The problem is that Nintendo clearly tries to get as much publicity as possible with a lot of the dlc character and I doubt that's possible with a gen 8 mon. Maybe they'll put one from the remakes in, if they're actually a thing.

This. Ultimate came out too early to include SwSh mons, and the DLC is decided by Nintendo who (understandably) thinks stuff like Sephiroth or promoting their other games is a better use of DLC slots.

Pichu and Pikachu mains make me rage since I main dedede and can't get away from shfair and shnair spam, and because I'm almost always airborne and have the brains of a rock I get plucked out and launched by thunderbolt more times than young link mains shoot arrows.

Nintendo might look at Sword and Shield’s sales and decide it’s the ‘big ticket item’ they should save for the end of the pass. If any of the reveals line up with SS DLC don’t be surprised to see Cinderace.

SS DLC is done and finished, retard. And the sales are good but hardly impressive to the point they would want to save it for last, Smash itself sold more. By the same logic Tom Nook deserves to be the grand finale a million times more than Niggerace.

They knew that there was no point in asking for a Pokémon Trainer as he was in Brawl because of the 3DS, but there were a fair amount of people asking for Squirtle and Ivysaur on their own like Charizard. Still, that probably proves your point even more, they were willing to compromise the gimmick just to have the monsters back.

Nintendo also values everything that gamefreak and the tpc have failed to incorporate in their games
Nintendo ensures their popular franchises are represented properly to their audience. They will demand the game be delayed rather than rushed to meet a deadline
Gamefreak is bound to the decisions of tpc, which we already know repeatedly push for yearly holiday releases. This was the first time they didn't go for it, understandable due to the backlash swsh received
I don't know how the quality of games will improve now that gamefreak has been moved into Nintendo's main building, but I won't be too hopeful

That's why I can see what's happening without my emotions clouding my judgement. Nintendo are using the DLC to push other IP's, they're not pissing away a slot on one of their own IP's, when they can use it as a draw for a new game down the line.
And besides, not as if there hasn't been Gens that didn't get a rep - shit they just added KANTOOOOOOOO last time they had the opportunity. But do keep deluding yourself into thinking everyone's as invested as you, it's endearing to see how the retarded go about life.

I think trimming the fat of the pokemon smash representation, I'd just want

That feels like that covers all the bases of the Pokemon experience and anything on top is just icing. Maybe toss in a psuedo, but gen 1/4 feel over-represented with dragonite/garchomp and the others don't feel like they'd make good smash characters. As just a personal pick for something that might not pass through bare minimum, N could be playable as a "villain/rival" slot

That being said though do you actually want a Pokemon to be one? I'd much rather see it go to a series not yet or under represented. Only reason I'd want to see a Pokemon is to see outrage but thats such a fleeting high it's not worth it.

As much as a love pokemon; fuck them being in smash. They have the potential to use characters from across gaming history, they shouldn't be wasting it on flavour of the month shit when there are characters from several other series that reslly should be included while sakurai has the chance.

On GBA wasn't that much of a difference. Consider that there are two different kinds instances, the overworld and what you see in battle. For both of these things they needed to make different graphics, while most other games only have one of the two. And the amount of different entities, Pokemon, they made sprites for makes up for it. Other titles don't have that many completely different looking entities.
Only now that Pokemon has used the same models for 7 years, that only get minor changes every now and then, pics like the one you posted are a fair comparison.
