i want to play emerald or FR/LG on IOS emulator but is there any easy way to trade? i know GBA4IOS has link capability but i dont want to have to wait around until i can find a friend to do it with. is it possible to transfer the save file to my computer, do the trade, and then resume on the phone?

There are probably some simple romhack that changes trade evos into level evos, and changes nothing else. You should look into that.

ive never been fond of that. does the level they evolve at effect their resulting stats? meaning, does alakazam end up stronger/weaker if you choose to evolve kadabra at 16 or 30?

Many popular emulators allow two roms being run at once and link in between them. I've done it it's quite simple.

you could simply upload your save file to your pc and change your kadabra into an alakazam using pkhex or use a romhack

There's an romhack called Firered 251, they need a stone to evolve and will still keep their stats and movesets.

Also, the extra Johto Pokemon they added are all crammed into Altering Cave so it isn't too different from original.
