Unironically yes. People constantly bitch and whine about this roadblock poking a little fun at the idea of stupid roadblocks, meanwhile they have no issue with the actual stupid roadblocks like thirsty guards, or guys who don't let you through because they say you should "explore more of the region".

Sword and Shield are lazy games already, so this wouldn't look different from the rest of the game's content.

BW2 are more polished and are better games. Because the game is less lazy and messy, this stands out.

I do have issues with those (not so much with the thirsty guards since you can bring a drink into the game to get past them before you even battle Misty). I don't have an issue with HM blocks as much though.

As much as I love B2W2 it kinda dropped the ball on the world map. Despite what some say the original BW world map being a giant circle was fine because the game was expertly designed around that. And the routes themselves were great. But that hurt B2W2 because it had to somehow give you a different route than the original despite being on the same giant circle. So you get a lot of awkward road blocks like how you take a plane to the Reverse Mountain area and back, or the OP's dancers.
