If your favorite mon hasn't appeared outside of the region it debuted in and you've had to trade or inject it into the later gens, then it may as well have already been cut from the dex.

Sounds like cope. Are you implying that no one ever transferred non-native Pokemon to use them in those "unique features" GameFreak loves to dangle in our faces and take away?
You never even once used your bro in a contest, 2nd run, party photo op, or in postgame facilities? Hell, some people even dabbled in musicals with their favorites in BW even though they're completely shit as a mechanic.
If they want us to believe that there's no reason to use Pokemon that aren't in the regional dex anyway, they need to stop adding interesting side features only to rip them away or use them as a selling point for otherwise mediocre games in the future.

It's almost never worth committing to because their moveset wasn't updated. I'd rather just replay the gen that they're playable in without injecting.
