The thing about ice types is that GF is so misguided when it comes to them.
They think that ice types should be slow and bulky, but ice is one of the worst, if not the worst defensive type in the game. As soon as an ice type gets high speed and attack, it's great, but GF doesn't seem to realize that.
So even though there's worse types, like bug, there's no point in white knighting for bug types because GF wants them to be shit.

That's true of most types, though. The overwhelming majority of Pokemon are putrid. Steel, maybe Fairy, and Dragon (due to bloated BSTs and a legendary surplus) are the only real exceptions

Why does Game Freak hate Ice Types ?

4 Weakness Including a dreaded Stealth Rock Weakness

Only One Resistance (itself)

Articuno being the worst of the Birds
Regice being the worst of the Golems
Aurorus being worst of the Fossils
The Artcos being worse than the Dracos

Other types get cucked but at least they have some worth.

Rock Type has 5 weakness but it has 4 resistances and Sp.D boost in sandstorm.

Bug is probably the second most cucked type after Ice due to being worthless against 8 types, but at least they have Stab U-Turn and actual resistances.

This is peak Ice-Type performance. On a related note, my problem with ice is how little good designs it has. There are a handfull of solid ones like Abomasnow or Weavile, but also bottom.of-the-barrel shit like Cryagonal or Vanilluxe

I think the reason ice has so many people sympathizing for it is because the recipe for a good ice type is as simple as "high speed, high attack and/or special attack", yet we keep getting Pokemon like Avalugg or Beartic. I think the number of Ice types with Speed over 110 number like, 2? It must be tiresome.

Steel Rock is so paradoxical because if you tell anyone "A giant monster made of rock and steel", you would expect a monster of defense and not one of the most fragile typings ever.

Some bug types are fine being bug types for stuff like fighting resist but none of them actually enjoy having to rely on bug for STAB outside of maybe U-turners.

A large number of Pokemon love having ice moves but no Pokemon actually wants to be ice type.
