If something really compelled them to do OC music stuff in what is supposed to be a nostalgic take on past games they should have provided a better balance between faithful takes and OC shit for already existing tracks
Or done two types of tracks, one being more faithful and the other wandering into fanfiction territory used for epic event moments
Nothing stops them from doing so when they literally composed 5-6 versions of the Kanto E4 / Gym Leader theme, 5 versions of whatever is the new regional E4 coming in late December and will continue to do so for every region
