Also, I've bothered to run the calcs now:
>252 SpA Spectrier Hex (65 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Chesnaught: 147-174 (38.6 - 45.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO>252 SpA Spectrier Hex (130 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Chesnaught: 292-345 (76.8 - 90.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after burn damageSpectrier can only 3HKO Chesnaught with base Hex and 2HKO's it with the status condition, so as I said, it's the best case scenario and that's still gonna take three turns if toxic spikes aren't on the field (first to wisp, second to hex and third to finish him off). Using Nasty Plot also has the same problems, just not reliant on a 85% accurate move in exchange for opening Spectrier up to getting mauled in return.
In those turns Chesnaught will have either switched out, crippled Spectrier with status of it's own or just killed it outright because it's rather frail (if Spectrier's taken any prior damage it's going to die). And that's not even factoring in how many Chesnaughts run Subs for various reasons, meaning it also has to waste a turn breaking those first should it switch in on a Chesnaught.
I'm not saying Spectrier can't beat Chesnaught, but it's going to be an uphill battle unless the Chesnaught player is lobotomized.
>>45697260Cinderace sets in BSS/VGC always run Bounce because Max Airstream is BEYOND fucking broken by design and it's absolutely infuriating and obnoxious to fight. It's literally the only reason anyone uses Bounce in those formats. It's just fucking egregious.
