I wish Shedinja was at least immune to leech seed, toxic poison, hail and spikes.
This buff wouldn't break it, but it would make it somewhat more viale.

Also, soaked Shedinja should be immune to sand too, since water is not weak to rock.

How would you balance Shedinja? When it's on the field it's all or nothing.

Give Shedinja its base 1 HP stat instead of a hardcoded single hit point
Still all-or-nothing frail, but now it can take residual damage and hazards

Shedinja is actually pretty balanced as is. It's not meant to be a pokemon that you just throw on a team without thinking, you're meant to support it with hazard control, weather control etc. to maximise its utility. How good Shedinja will be equates to how much of the rest of the team is dedicated to supporting it. Also, Toxic stall Shedinja is far better than trying for a sweep.

Hidden Ability: Magic Guard
Moves: Shell Smash
Reduce Defense and Special Defense to 1 so it can't abuse Substitute switches with these buffs. Redistribute the BST into Attack, Speed, or Sp. Attk if you want but that doesn't matter anyway

It would be cool if Shell Smash had a unique effect with Shedinja, like how curse is different when used by ghost types, since Shedinja is literally just the shell.

Give it exactly 16 HP, because 1/16 is the lowest percentage of indirect damage that can be caused.
Now Shedinja takes proportionally the same amount from hazards and shit as normal mons, but still dies instantly in one hit.
And as a bonus, Sturdy Shedinja is no longer broken in hackmons.
