Why are her focus episodes so dull?

I don't dislike Koharu and I want to give the character a chance, but nothing about her "personality" is all that interesting.

her interactions of being "uninterested in pokemon" but actually starting to like them is actually compelling and i kinda like it. very very unique compared to other heroines before.

I don't like how the writers write the interactions with her and the other characters. If they do eventually have her join Ash and Goh it'll feel odd because Koharu doesn't really interact with Ash without Goh there.

Still better than Koharu since May was part of the main cast from the start and they didn't stick too long with the "I don't care for Pokemon" shtick. Plus, Koharu's interactions are bare bones and extremely lack luster.

I can't quite explain why, but I like her. She's just sorta there sometimes, but not in the way. Now she's at the point where she dabbles with Pokemon training, but it's still not her main thing quite yet. Interestingly, her dad being a professor, too. I think she's there to represent real life casuals which complements competitivefag Ash and Gofag Gou.
