Pokemon Gen1 took that same approach (Rhydon is a Rhino kaiju, Venusaur is a giant toad, Blastoise is a turtle worth cannons, Mewtwo is an Psychic Cat, etc...)

And? They’re not animals though, they’re monsters. And as previously mentioned media has depicted monsters as friendly you can have both hostile and friendly monsters is the point I’m trying to get across. A monster doesn’t stop being a monster because it’s friendly.
