In-Universe, it's supposed to have the strongest league. The problem is that it's not. It's a fucking joke. Leon is an extremely easy fight even with his level advantage and his ace is a fucking punching bag that will go down to any rock attack, and his team has half good pokemon and half shitmons.
Every other member of the league is absolutely pathetic. Special mention goes to Raihan for being the final gym leader yet somehow is the fucking weakest and gets even WORSE in his rematch because his AI is too busy wasting turns changing weather conditions that he gets stuck in a loop when you just knock him out with the free turn (not to mention having a shitmon for an ace). I think the only guy who actually put up a good fight was Piers, because his team was designed without the unga bunga button in mind.
So, it's "supposed" to be the perfect, coolest, bestest all-around greatest league in the pokemon world. The problem is that it's not. This is why a lot of people hate it.
