Ours anime club always had 1~2 setups running smash, a large TV reserved for anime except for mario party friday, and 2-3 other smaller tvs for anime or other games. On the other side of the cabinets was a large amount of desks where people often played yugioh/other tcg.
Typically open from building open to building close every weekday. Plenty of open space.
Go-to annual convention was Anime Boston, enough club budget to pay for 20~30 people.
We also did a few screenings for anime movies in lecture halls with decent projectors/sound systems.
And organized/hosted a few video game tournaments and ran ladders for smash.
And organized a pokemon event, which was possibly my favorite.
We basically setup a LAN party for showdown with 8 gym leaders and the elite four, all using themed teams. Whoever collected all 8 badges and defeated the elite four first became the champion, subsequent challenges needing to also defeat him to take the title. You had to defeat the elite four with the same team, but otherwise you could change up your team whenever. We handled logistics so challengers didn't need their own computers. And lastly supplied free pizza, bought like 18 pies or something.
Something like a "pokemon club" is just way too specific.
