Romhacks have ruined pokemon for me. Once you get used to needing to care about team composition and move sets, the official releases are just miserably boring

Why the fuck do they refuse to just put a hard mode in the mainline games? Because the sad thing is, when the game is hard the core pokemon mechanics really do shine and the games are among my favorite monster collecting RPGs. They've built a genuinely good system here and they refuse to make any real use of it
