Kalos lacks in pretty much every department, ESPECIALLY lore. So much stuff that could and should've been explained like the Kalos War, the royalty of Kalos, Emma'a story but most importantly the fucking legendaries. Despite being incarnations/emissaries of life and death, they have no presence or lore in the game and only appear bound in a cage during the climax of the game. Every other game atleast tries to give lore to it's legendaries and how they're connected to the region, but in Kalos they just exist to be captured. The only information you get about them is through the pokedex, which is insulting because the concept of the legendaries is just perfect for rich lore
