Is it even worth it to buy a physical copy of HG or SS at this point? I was just looking through eBay and anything under $100 is littered with repro carts. I'm not paying $100+tax+shipping for a fucking pokemon game.

There really isn't a benefit besides the Pokéwalker. You can use Pkhex to transfer mons from any mainline game's .sav into a Gen VII save then use Bank to transfer to Home.

You can't emulate the pokewalker yet. But its rom was dumped a couple weeks ago so hopefully that will change soon.

I got a CIB copy of heart gold for like 90$ a few years ago off ebay. I wonder if I accidentally bought a repro or if the prices seriously just got that much worse.

Wish I still had my soul silver box too, I can't believe I lost that, that was definitely after the point where I stopped throwing away collectible packaging.

by the time hgss was already stupid expensive in the states, i got my european copy (complete boxed with the walker and inserts) for less than 40€. than around 2017 i got a second copy for less than 20€, because barely anyone cared for english copies of the games on the german ebay ...cover was swedish, but who cares. cart was the regular english one anyway.
but china caught up. and now our market is also flooded with bootlegs. now i really understand your struggle

Getting old vydia is a crusade, that year I was lucky because I managed to get KH 358/2 and Pokemon Conquest both brand new at $40 piece.
