Clefable isn't better than Chansey. It's more offensive but far less bulky and wallbreakers after the last DLC are pressuring it more than ever
there's no good defensive counter to Urshifu. you could say it has no counters in OU. in natdex max defense Mega Slowbro can stall out wicked blow but not switch in.

Dude. im convinced people in Smogon just cant be bothered to experiment. Why the hell are there not all sorts of fighting types dominating the OU meta specifically mons like Machamp and Hariyama. Fighting types that hit like Mach Trucks solely to deal with just Clefable.

Anything that has over time evolved to be standard was a result of experimentation. Blissey is literally the standard now because people experimented with HDB and realized it kind of outclasses Chansey. In the beginning people were convinced Chansey is still about as good but now it's nowhere. People thought Normalium-Z Kartana is a complete meme and now it's about as standard as it gets.

/vp/ doesn't play and thinks that any team that doesn't use 6 PU shitmons is just copypaste.

Besides, Urshifu-SS more or less out-does shit like Machamp and Hariyama and even Urshifu doesn't want to have any business staying against Clefable and see if another Wicked Blow does the job

And if Mega-Slowbro who is actually part psychic type still stalls out SE Wicked Blow, then similar fat water mons without getting hit by a SE move and with recovery should stall it out, too.
Dunno, if Milotic counts. Her def base is around half of Mega-Slowbro's but not getting a SE hit should equalize it.

People experiment all the time. It's just if you discover a new strat that you can use to get some cheeky wins you're not gonna announce it to the world. But nothing stays a secret forever and if your strat is good enough to make a difference it'll become widespread and thus no longer "experimental". If you think you've got the game down to a T tho feel free to share some replays of you winning with super unconventional builds.

That would barely help.
Because of the way base stats factor into the actual stat calculation, +5 base defense would only equate to +10 base defense at level 100.
Or with Eviolite, +15.

Mega Slowbro can't switch in to banded Urshifu. If it's less than 50% it dies to Wicked Blow. Pressure Corviknight is a better check because it at least depletes the PP quickly, but again, it's 2HKO'd.
Buzzwole and Weezing are shitmons. The fact that those two are the only 'counters' and you need to handicap your team to use them illustrates just how oppressive Urshifu-S is.

I never said they weren't offense. I said that offense is terrible against them.
Defensive mons handle them best, so keeping them around encourages more defensive playstyles, like stall and "fat balance".
