I know these are kids games, but back when I was your age it was normal to just buy a game and then own the full thing. Seeing all these subscriptions and dlcs for a product I've already purchased just always seems like a scam to me. I'm glad I can always still just go back and play these full games on their own 10 or 20 years later. They were cheaper back then too, so even if you bought two copies like you think we had to, it would still cost less than just one game DLC now.
10 or 20 years from now I won't have the option to just play the DLC on its own and that's why I think it's a worse model. It's not a full video game.
