>>45748093>yes, party experience like that is the norm, play more videogames, zoomieNot that anon, but i wanted to touch on this, the REASON it's shitty in pokemon is because pokemon had it's systems entirely balanced around not having the whole party gain EXP. Other jrpgs rebalance the system when they make a change like this, but not pokemon. It's still using the same System from before but now you gain several times more experience.
Why is this a problem you ask? Simple. It allows them to have the game be filled with dramatically less battles, and the games can now be MUCH shorter because of it. It basically enables GF to be lazy.
Like, consider for a moment that in SwSh the 8th gym leader is even weaker than the 8th gym leader in platinum. Yet in SwSh, the level curve progresses several times faster than in platinum. It can then be concluded that SwSh got away with just straight up having a much shorter and more barebones main game by virtue of simply speeding up XP gain.
This could ALL be fixed if gamefreak simply made the XP get split among your party. Maybe divide the XP by how ever many party members you have in your party + how ever many took part in the battle, and then give each member that much XP and each member that took part in the battle twice as much.
This, mathematically, would be exactly the fucking same as the system in gen 8 in terms of proportions of XP each member gets, but now your xp gain is as fast as it was in previous games
