The wild area biome placement and wild encounters are shuffled around based on a seed generated at the start of the game, but they're guaranteed to have one of everything so players aren't fucked out of any specific types.
The player can visit other people's wild areas and would get some niche little house and garden somewhere on the map that they can customize. The towns and routes themselves are static, but they're more organically inserted into the wild area.
Singleplayer runs on an in-game clock so you don't need to clockscum in order to catch mons that only appear at certain times, but going online switches you to realtime so you can't completely cheese the dex.
8 gyms but you can take on 1-3 and 5-7 in any order with 4 & 8 being the milestones that require all previous badges to take on. Base gyms are monotype but rematches have proper coverage. Expansion gyms would be based on themes and VGC champs and whatever.
Preemptive strike on overworld encounters, instant speed text, skip/fastforward animation button, bring back berry mutation, and other QoL improvements.
Mystery Gift will give you rotating quests and fill dungeons up with treasure and bosses to fight.
