I have severe autism about this because all the NPC trainers use pokemon that correspond with their gender, with a scant few exceptions (Wallace's Milotic being one). It just feels strange to me to use pokemon that aren't my gender, like they don't fit on my team. I make exceptions for pokemon that are all female, because that's the only way I can use them.
