I guess I like the idea of Pokemon having 'genes' but realistically every competitive player is gonna get the best IVs anyways and story players don't give a shit. They just add an uneeded layer of tedium.

Hyper training makes them more or less a nonissue, but they really shouldn't have existed to begin with. Random stat penalties is such a stupid idea.

Why would they do that? HP is vital for a good quarter of all pokemon to get conpetent coverage, and useful on half or so.

No one with any brain cells runs HP electric. Seriously, I don't see why people don't understand, there's only three types that are commonly run; grass, fire and ice, and you always know which one the particular pokemon is running. Don't forget that its also only a 60bp move, very weak by modern standars

No, because IVs reflect real life. There are some things you can only get so good at. It's unlikely you'll be faster than Usain Bolt at 100m no matter how much you train. It comes down to genetic differences as well
