My problem is more that there's absolutely no substantial connection between the two Pokemon you posted. Gligar clearly has some face-hugger in it's DNA, but it's toned down to the point where you'd have no idea if this prototype didn't make it somewhat more clear (and even then the connection is somewhat tenuous at best, if you're one of those "ambiguous X monster people").
