I play competitive on Showdown like every other sane person, so a Pokemon game that's only 10 hours long and focuses entirely on the neutered online is a SHIT GAME. Platinum is 25 hours long, B2/W2 is 30, and none of that is including the post game, which adds 10s, if not 100s, of more hours onto the game. Meanwhile, my full playthrough of Shield, including the Battle Tower, lasted only 18 hours. For a $60 game.
And the DLC? The DLC are absolutely not worth it. There is next to no content in them, they're just ways to sell you back Pokemon that were already in the series. I never bought them because I didn't want to give GF any money for those atrocious games, so you can't say "but you bought it anyways".
