How do you guys decide on nicknames for your mons? Been trying to name this one for 20 minutes and I can't think of anything good.

Try and think of something vaguely related to some aspect of the mon and use that. in one of my recent playthroughs i caught an Ice type and named him Mr.COOLICE.

I have a Breloom that I use to capture pokemon, so I called him Captuloom. I'm going to use this Ralts (future Gardevoir) to do contests, but can't think of anything beside that.

Ah, I don't drink a lot of alcohol so I didn't catch the pun. I don't mind doing puns since a lot of pokemon have pun names already but I don't want to reference something that makes no sense (Ralts has no relation to liquor other than the name sounding similar)

I usually name them a portmanteau of Sneed and the original name. For example, Pidove is “Sneedove”, Ferroseed is “Sneedoseed” and Weedle is “Sneedle”

An aspect of the Aspect of the Pokemon decides. Something simple would be Mimikyu being Dopple due to Doppleganger or Indeedee's devilish appearance inspiring the idea of Ipos, a devil.

If I'm going through the game for the first time or doing a "serious" playthrough I think "Alright what would I name this guy/girl if I were an actual trainer in the Pokemon world."

Otherwise meme names.

Like when I did an Emerald Nuzlocke I named my Torchic Ember. Whereas I've named another Torchic "Colonel."

I named my Gardevoir Aria because it has Hyper Voice as its main move when it mega evolves. Try something similar to that.

Well this Gardevoir is mainly going to do contests so I'm trying to use that as inspiration, but I don't want to name it with something that's literally a word or already a name for something or someone else.
