Good but I'm glad they seem to be staying out of the main games. Even in the base game not using a mega feels like a loss, and unless they added new ones (which would get overcrowded quickly) you would always end up with one of the same pokemon on your team.

Why is it pointless when it gave some Pokemons the stat boost they needed and a fresh look? It's at least something compared to that shit called Dynamax. Whoever decided on that mechanic should never touch another game.

Most of the Pokemons on that list 1) didn't need a mega evolution at all and 2) they mega form works just fine as a regular evolution. Are cross-gen evolution prohibited now or what? I have this feeling with regional form in SWSH too, like instead of buffing/giving an evolution to Farfetch'd, they create a regional form and give that regional form an evolution ????? Same thing with Gmax forms, they are using gimmicks to avoid giving old Pokémon and evolution for some reason

The latter two always had their hidden abilities and the former two have barely been touched since Gen 4 outside moves just existing.

This, along with restricting it to only 3 stage mons(with a few very specific exceptions). Though, if they really have to give an already competitively viable pokemon for marketing purposes, it,s mega should be a sidegrade.

Mega Evolution should comeback, but with more restrictions going forward.

I don't like Dyna/Gigantahax, but I'd hate to see at least the Gigantamax forms go to waste, so I'd like to see them be repurposed into megas.

i dont like that it's restricted to a certain amount of pokemon, but there are some cool designs

maybe if there was some way to spread it across all pokemon (like say the awakened status in PMD which anyone can use but it acts as the mega feature too) i'd like it a lot more

Retcon them into actual evolutions/alternate ones.

Megastones are just that, stones that have power along with the bracelet to allow your Pokemon to evolve for a short while. However, they've developed technology to make the megastones have power without the bracelet and allows Pokemon to have alternate/actual evolutions.
The stats are altered so that these new forms aren't hax or ultra powerful.

Megaevolution idea fixed.

Mega as a mechanic stopped serving its purpose (save for selling merch, but thats a given) by the time ORAS came out. There are like 50 of them but only 4 or so were used in official competitive tournaments due to the stupid item restriction. Adding more of them likely wont „fix” your favorite shitmon like /vp/ believes since unlike normal Pokemon, Megas dont compete with similiar Pokemon of their type/role, they compete with broken shit like Mega Gengar and Mega Kangaskhan who already outclass 90% of the current Mega roster.
