I used to watch the movies as a kid, but eventually I lost interest in them. Pokemon as a franchise has alot going on, so I don't feel the need to engage with all of it. I even dropped the TV anime once Dawn left and didn't pick it back up until the 2019 series with Goh.

I would expect shounen Kimetsu and Yakusoku to have primary audiences that lean somewhat older than Pokémon, which might account for part of it.
Maybe they’ll be able to make up some of it with streaming.

How is the situation over there in regards to COVID?
