What other features should get promoted from regional gimmick status?
For me, i'm actually really hoping raids make a return. It would be cool if the Sinnoh remakes had them in addition to megas just like how Alola's regional gimmick worked in tandem with the mechanic in Gen 7.

raids dont make sense in other regions though, they aren't like megas or trainer customization where it can happen anywhere.

I'm currently playing Radical Red, and DexNav and (I agree) raids should be mainstays. They're immense gameplay boosts.

As for battle-influencing gimmicks/mechanics, I like Passive Skills from Pokemon Masters, and think they could integrate that in the mainline game by converting abilities we take for granted like Levitate and Pressure into those.

You could argue that raids are a GO thing that don't rely on Dynamax. Also, the anime had raids occurring even without Dynamax Pokemon and instead on just regular ones.
But yeah, as far as SWSH-style raids go they most certainly do rely on Dynamax, which isn't as flexible as megas were considering there's no way to Dynamax outside of Galar while megas were explicitly for other regions than Kalos to begin with.

Megas happening anywhere is already a retcon, so it's not like they can't do that with raids. Megas were supposed to be a battle-only form generated by Anistar's crystal, but then in the very next game ORAS strips their precarious circumstances away and allows you to soar in the sky on Megas in a different region.

It's baffling you wrongly accuse others of not playing the game when they cite a detail only discussable from having played the game while you say such absurd things. All the older Pokemon that gained relevancy were attainable in the Kalos region, you adding "in their home region" is the blatant misinformation.

So Blaziken and the Latis don't exist?
You can't argue that they did it for ORAS either because then you're acknowledging that megas were always meant to be in Hoenn, like they had already been in Unova and Kanto before XY even came out.

It's the truth, though. Unlike Galar, those Pokemon are actually relevant in their home regions. You're the one that spewed blatant headcanon as fact when the game constantly goes over why megas are a thing. That fact is persistent among all Gen 6 games (and LGPE).

There's no Mega Abomasnow in Sinnoh. There's no Mega Tyranitar in Johto. There's no Mega Audino in Unova. Maybe you should choose a different choice of words because what you're saying is complete nonsense. There are no native Megas at all in Alola or Galar.

Raids are one of the main features that has been keeping SwSh alive this whole year. If it was previous entries, most normie players would stop playing once they finished post-game, compfags will stay for Battle Facilities and competitions and collectors will spend their miserable life hatching shinies. Raids will be carried over to the next gen, in some form or another.
