There's amillion ways they can shoehorn the appearance of Power spots in Sinnoh, just like they fucked out the lore XY intoduced about them and had Fug caiuse them in Hoenn.
It's not hard to add power spots to the game, to feed into the dynamax angle.

If they updated how the mining mini-game works to make it more intuitive, that could actually be pretty cool (adding it to the pool of items along with fossils and evolution stones).

Ideally, you'd also update the underground so different areas of the map have a different underground style, like underneath Canalave being gray, damp stone, with a lot of metal ores, puddles of water, and waterfalls, where you'd find a lot of evolution items, or underneath Eterna it'd be all gnarled and full of tree roots and packed dirt, which is where you could find berries and etc. Then you make the megas/z-crystals found in the underground underneath the post-game island
