>>45799316It depends on the hack. Most Gen 3/4 hacks are bearable with the entire dex, because there aren't THAT many Pokemon to add.
But I tried Volt White recently and it starts to get really ridiculous packing everything into the already small amount of locations Unova has.
Radical Red skips most of the problems by adding the DexNav though. Being able to decide on your encounters removes like 90% of the issues with the bloated dex desu.

What's weird is that the very same game gives you infinite free Rare Candies once you reach the League, so the creator clearly understands that tedious grinding isn't part of the challenge. Quite strange.
But everything else I quite enjoyed. The ridiculous teams meant every team member had to be absolutely essential - there was no room for dead weight just because you liked them. I changed my team up for basically every Gym and had a box full of back-up Pokemon for different situations (don't even ask how long they took to train)
And the insane routes in Crystal Kaizo were actually quite intense. A lot of them blocked your retreat with ledges so you can't go back ot heal without beating the whole gauntlet. And getting stranded in the devilish ocean labyrinth between Olivine and Cianwood with no potions was the closest Pokemon has ever come to feeling like a survival horror game.
It's definitely a unique experience.
