>>45811414Quite easily. FR/LG are just boring remakes. They have no originality, do nothing different, are just another cashgrab. I hardly consider them a game. The original gen 1 games are their own instances of themselves, they are perfect for what they are. "Updating" the graphics and/or features, that's unnecessary. A game is what it is. The gen 1 games are some of the greatest video games ever created.
FR/LG also take the engine and graphics developed for R/S/E and apply them to gen 1. Awful, just awful and insulting. How can you even consider them games and not just cashgrabs when they just husked out gen 3's games and modded them to have gen 1's gameplay? Awful.
>>45811475I meant that Black and White are better, obviously. Black 2 and white 2 are sequels and their stories are bland and hashed on. It feels unoriginal, uninspired, and a lazy attempt at trying to hide the fact they're just cashgrabs. Then they throw a bunch of "features" and post-game content, when really such content should have just been in the originals, isn't very impressive, and the resources used to make it could have been used to just work on real new games (And X and Y surely could have used that extra time).
Their second biggest sin is taking a weak stance on introducing new pokemon. New games should have new pokemon. They were right to isolate players in Unova in White and Black, but they caved in response to the loud whiny minority, and shoehorned old pokemon into Unova to appease them, which did not fit in thematically at all, and thus, lessened the experience. And what do you know, they sold poorly anyway. Either pander to old fans or don't, Black and White 2 were such spineless cop-out games. For those reasons, they don't belong in the top tier.
