I run Eviolite Magneton. Is that actually tankier than Magnezone? I have a plus def nature with max def and sp. def investment to make it as worth it as possible.

This leaves him with 142.5 base def, 105 base so. def, and well.. it's 10 speed faster than Magnezone. Is it tankier?

It's not bulkier than Magnezone in practice because leftovers recovery is a huge factor.

Wait I don't use them for bulk? Why not? If I Dynamax after using Magnet Rise he's just a lightning cannon that can't be killed by anything it's great. Do you think I should invest in speed instead? To be fair, it could be faster than is possible for Magnezone without a choice scarf I guess.

I still want to try to do my best to win with my favorites. It's my job as a trainer to perform as good as I can with them. I got master ball tier with my bros so I feel good about it. Crown tundra ruined online though.

I've done that with analytic in showdown for years. In doubles it's a decent discharger and could tank things without stab advantages but I think this new generation is a bit harder hitting

Sorry. Magnezone is better in basically every way.
Also, Eviolite multiples your actual defense and special defense stats by 1.5, not your base stats.
Eviolite Magneton has the equivalent of 167 base defense and 130 base special defense.
Its real deficiency is in its offense. It has a slightly lower special attack than Magnezone, and can't run Choice Specs because it needs Eviolite.
That said, Magneton is still usable. I'd recommend using it in tiers where Magnezone isn't allowed, or just going back to gen 5 and using them together in a 4drag2mag team.

I like Magneton more as well (though Zone is still great), I preferred running it with scarf in lower tiers, the lack of lefties makes its bulk less useful as another anon pointed out. Dual screens can be fun as well, both on a trapper set to capitalize on trapping a defensive steel type or with sturdy as a suicide lead though it's less effective there imo. Packs a decent punch with stabs as well

The only niche you can possibly carve out is having a Magnezone that's faster than what's normally possible but shittier in every other possible way. I suggest you focus on that more than anything else.

Of course Scarf exists but, that's the only way Magnezone could outspeed and that locks you into one move.
