What's up with Gen 8 evolution lines?

Why do they look so bad, almost none of these designs look related or comes off as a natural transition ftom one form to the other,outside of being blue lizards, birds and rocks

Honestly only Intellion’s Mid Evo doesn’t make sense, but that’s purely color wise. Otherwise Sobble and Intellion look like they are related, thematically. But the jump in design is what is weird.

Nothing wrong with the Rookidee line and the Rolycoly line isn't as bad as people say. You should have used the Scorbunny and Skvowet lines instead

It’s not a strange jump at all. Starter middle evos have always added color schemes/details that the final forms drop.

I was talking more design, than color.

In what way does Drizzle look like it could become Inteleon? It goes from Emo Kid to James Bond with little to no connection between the two.
I mean Charmeleon at least looks like it could become Charizard, with the horn.

Huh, guess that’s contradictory. With Drizzle the Color’s make no sense in terms that the Green becomes Black, and the yellow fin goes pink/green, back to yellow in final evo?

Guess the design is also a problem, because yeah, Drizzle makes no sense design wise, turning into James Bond.
