is this the worst menu game freak has conceived? something about it just feels like shit to use, same for managing pokemon in the PC

I can't make an argument for functionality but visually it's awful, the UI in that game is just so bland. Minimalistic doesn't need to mean the literal minimum.

I dont mind it actually, but I wish it didn't cover the whole screen with the white background.

Maybe instead of the white, it could just darken and blur the screen then place the icons over it.

Has to be, there's no main menu - splash screen loads right into the game when you press a button.
