Chinese players don't usually speak English, so the Chinese metagame evolved differently than the English-speaking metagame.
Their EV spreads are really weird and specific.

I like to make my own sometimes just to get my autism out. I forget what EVs I originally came up with but I made one for grimmsnarl to try and just stall out turns with sub/protect with toxic spikes support and maybe set up on weak shit. The HP is a sub number so I think you can just go between sub and protect for 14 turns straight or so.

Timid lets it get a speed boost from beast boost. Its attack is already so ridiculously high, especially after a swords dance, that it hardly matters.
Same with Stakatama running a -Def nature.

I have a VGC Tyranitar with 140 HP/244 Attack/36 Defense/12 Special Defense/76 Speed and an Adamant nature. I remember taking about 30 minutes going through different calcs in and out of terrain, with different items for the attacker, to make it live as many things as I could while maintaining speed tier.

I ran them years before Emvee coined that unfortunate term for them. Many high level builders in general do. I won't say players, because a lot of high level players often copy teams built by other people, but the ones that come up with the team themselves usually EV with specific thresholds in mind instead of just doing max-max spreads.
