For all the "Why doesn't SwSh look like BOTW" threads we have, why have we not asked why SwSh doesn't look like Skyrim?
Mainly, why can people mod the hell out of Skyrim to make it a significantly better experience, but not SwSh?
It seems like a lot of SwSh's problems could be solved relatively easily with a little community work

If Skyrim has shitons of mods it's because Bethesda made it fully moddable, unlike most games

Skyrim and many other games, get many mods, because they are PC games. And SwSh still has some mods, but they aren't really impressive, nobody puts too much effort on them because they are not too accessible for players.

There is absolutely 0% chance a company charged with making products for the most successful media franchise (that also happens to be Japanese, who are notoriously staid and protective to begin with) are going to let any random fuck run wild with official tools making their own shit. Bad for image and bad for overhead. It'd be cool though, if people could make some real homebrew pokemon shit outside of romhacks and such.

PvP in a game about pokemon battling is way more fun and way less autistic than replaying the game, doing nuzlockes or shiny hunting. Once you finish the postgame you literally can't do anything else in official games.

99% of pokemon players have zero interest in the competitive community. It's not a franchise that takes itself seriously enough to have that kind of audience.
