I also hate the Behemoth Bash animation.
The shield clanking into place and Zam howling with neither having sound effects is awful.

If you think about it, all the newly introduced Fighting types (with the exception of Urshifu, which was made specifically to be good) are terrible.

Sirfetch'd? Slow, relatively frail and useless in VGC
Falinks? Terrible, and even worse in VGC
Grapploct? Abysmal, not even getting started on VGC
Zamazenta? You said it yourself.

Meanwhile all the new Fairy types (except Galar Rapidash) have had some success at some point (either Smogon and/or official formats), with Zacian being mega ray 2 and Grimmsnarl still being run in VGC because of the utility of Prankster, untauntable screens.

Coincidence? I think not.

In Gen 7 Rayquaza can't Mega Evolve if it holds a Z-Crystal, so even if Mega Evolution was in Sword and Shield, Rayquaza would presumably still only be allowed to pick one per battle.

Zacian-C can pretty much wallbreak anything, but only if given the right coverage, and unlike Mega Fug, Scarf and Weather Abilities cause it trouble. Dragon Dance+115 Spe ensures Fug outspeeds all Base 100 Pokemon with Adamant, and Delta Stream requires an opponent to send in 3 Pokemon against it. On top of that, it can just extreme speed almost everything else, including Ditto (as Ditto would have to decide to use a weaker move that might not kill or Dragon Ascent).
The only reliable way to revenge kill Fug would be if they swept too early, or you have Scarf Marshadow, and both things are also problems for Zacian and Calyrex.

Because Lame Freak wants to shill Sword for some reason. The real question is why did they making a Pokemon they obviously hate, the story could have only Zacian and nothing would change.

A quick glance at its movepool makes me suspect that they intended it to be a support mon. Throw up screens, and then use some Coaching/Howl/Helping Hand/Work Up moves power up its allies and maybe itself.
