They did, they completeluy lightened the entire interior pallete AND put a massive signposted hint about travelling up the rock climb wall the very first time the player goes through that tunnel.
But the damage was done, millions of children missed the wall in DP and given the third versions don't sell as well as the initial pairing, there were lots who'd still have missed it.

If people were smart enough to finish the game in the first place then they can retrace their steps back to the Hall of Origin.
The item shouldn't be given out until you complete the game, anyway.
Mt. Coronet being a toughie is a zoomer meme and basically a very poor excuse to not include an item that one would only use if they could beat the game in the first place.

I think the real reason was because if you used the flute when Team Galactic was there it would've broken the game. Still bullshit though he could've told kids to beat the Elite Four first.

They could have coded this so that this event could trigger after you beat the league, that way it didn't disrupt the main plot in Spear Pillar. But Game Freak, specifically Masuda, has buggero in the anneru.
