Want to make this part of my new story mode team . i got one in a trade but i wanna be the OT. I cant breed my own some how becuase some arbitrary rule about baby pokemon gruop cant make eggs despite many stage 1 pokemon able to make eggs.

What game? about your problem, i had a similar issue, thankfully the togepi was female and hoothoot can make eggs with them so i just had to walk like a retard until she evolved and boom, eggs

Sheild. Apparently it needs to be evolved to at least togetic to hatch eggs . But that needs full happiness to evolve which means leaving in your party and playing the story with it. But i wanna do that with my own ID spawned togepi so it will be permanently loyal on early game
