Breath of the Wild is overrated as fuck.

>open air/open world design makes the world feel less mysterious
>almost no mechanical progression after Plateau
>shrines, korok seeds, stables, enemy camps, etc are very repetitive
>memory flashbacks leave nothing to the imagination and create a rift in the story (game expects you to care about characters and events from 100 years ago)

>99% of the content is optional because you can skip to the final boss at any time, you don't have to actually earn it like in every previous game (including LoZ)
>conceptually cool areas (e.g. Forgotten Temple) are just a vessel for shrines, you can feel the wasted potential everywhere

There is zero reason to play through any Pokemon game more than once. The games have never been designed with replayability in mind. At least "play through the story again" replayability. The intent has always been for the replayability to come from the multiplayer components, and completing the Pokedex.
