Holy shit dude, once you do the shitty forced pokestar thing you are free to go, it takes like 10 minutes at most. Its one of the best pokemon games, but that doesn't mean its a perfect pokemon game. Its still made by GameFreak, they had to fuck up at least something.

Which doesn't become a problem till Chargestone cave where they gave redundant dialogue on a linear puzzle dungeon to "keep going" for more story stuff. But most I see people flip out about is skipping actual dialogue that matters.

They're reskins, because Gen I was so bloody successful selling toys to kids. That they've just gotten easier (starting in Gen III when they gave charmander Metal Claw, JUST for FRLG/Brock because it never was able to learn it since) only proves kids didn't get the same education us 80's gamers got through our games.
