Anons like to say the downfall began with XY but honestly it was ORAS. ORAS left behind trainer customization, it didn't use any of Emerald's trainer battles and feels even more of a cakewalk because of megas, and it committed the greatest sin to this day of abandoning the Battle Frontier, especially in a time when they started making breeding easier. ORAS even looks worse than XY. ORAS was nothing but Hoenn remake hype and new mega evolutions hype.
