Ignoring the fact new Gens on new hardware launch a remake in the same Gen, even Game Freak aren't ready to remake Johto, given they've clearly been following their release order still.
Maybe you'll get it as the last game of next Gen, or if they drag out this Gen a 4th year, to be nice and lined up to launch Gen X in 2026.
