Whenever I see Boltund it's usually treated as a physical attacker due to its better coverage and Strong Jaw. It tends to have Bulk Up alot too. They have the first Pokemon on the team do set up with screens etc. to give Boltund time to power up.

That being said alot of people seem to forget about Strong Jaw and that Thunder Fang is a biting move, so they insist on running Wild Charge which is much worse on a Strong Jaw Boltund.
