If the foundation crumbles, and the loyalty of the older fans are gone the rest will eventually fall considering the fact that doing the bare minimum, and relying on brand recognition can only last so long. If your only interest is to satisfy the bare minimum of fans, then expect to eventually fail. Notice how I said EVENTUALLY! This is proof that the games can, and should cater to everyone. This was proven 11 fucking years ago on the DSI.
